• Hi Kate. The pictures above with the letters are of the actual stamps put out by the Post Office. If you wanted to make a quilt with the letters on it, I would say you could take some gray cotton, fuse Wonder-Under paper-backed fusible to the back, and copy the letters in reverse onto the paper part. You could then cut them out, fuse them onto your background, and finish the edges the way you like, with a zig zag stitch, a blanket stitch, or satin stitch, depending on your own preference. Here is my tutorial for using Wonder-Under for applique with fleece. Follow the instructions on the package for fusing because you may use a higher temperature with cotton.
